As a new renter where do I start?
If you are required to pay for utilities, Utility Customer Care will provide billing and customer service for Electric, Water, Sewer, Solid Waste and Recycling.
My electric bill seems high, what should I do?
During extreme weather it is likely you are using more heat or air-conditioning. Both of these increase your energy consumption because systems need to work harder just to keep up. Even for customers who don't use the A/C, motors and fans may run more frequently.
The use of a space heater may also have a significant impact on power usage.
Faulty, old, or inefficient appliance may also increase your usage. Check your appliances Energy Star rating to help determine the impact to your electric bill. If you have added a new appliance the Energy Star rating will help you understand the potential impact to your power bill.
